The Beta Lambda Chapter of Sigma Chi prides itself as a fraternity composed of different temperaments, talents, and convictions. As Sigs, we employ our diversity to build the strongest brotherhood on Duke University's campus.

About Us
Founded in 1912, the Sigma Chi Beta Lambda has been a fixture on Duke’s campus for more than a century. The Beta Lambda chapter prides itself as a fraternity composed of different temperaments, talents, and convictions. As Sigs, we employ our diversity to build the strongest brotherhood on campus.
Philanthropy
Sigma Chi prides itself on giving back. In the fall of 2017, the Beta Lambda Chapter brought back Derby Days to benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and raised $10,000 for cancer research. We are proud to partner with this organization and look to build upon our successful campaign last year.
Brotherhood
Brotherhood takes many forms at Sigma Chi, whether that be helping each other with homework, sharing a meal together, hanging out or working out together. It may also be playing Q’s on Thursdays or playing beer frisbee on Saturdays.

We are diverse as a result of our different temperaments, talents, and convictions and remain bound by the three great aims of Sigma Chi: Friendship, Justice, and Learning.
Recruitment
The Beta Lambda chapter of Sigma Chi is a proud member of the Greek community at Duke University, but an even prouder member of the university community as a whole. For this reason, recruitment is one of our favorite times of the year. As the next class of students join in the energy and excitement of exploring Greek Life, Sigma Chi seeks to showcase the fun and welcoming brotherhood each of us came to love during his respective recruitment periods. The brothers are anxious to extend a warm welcome to all the prospective members of Greek Life and to seek true friendship with newcomers as we help to facilitate this extremely exciting and important decision process.

As do all of Duke’s IFC fraternities, the official rush process begins in January, just before classes start. If you have any questions, please contact one of our recruitment chairs Lucas Carter (lucas.carter@duke.edu), Alex White (alejandro.white@duke.edu) or Jeffrey Sivaphornchai (jeffrey.sivaphornchai@duke.edu).
International Fraternity
Sigma Chi is the largest men's leadership organization in the country. With 242 chapters and over 300,000 brothers, Sigs are everywhere. That is one of the qualities that makes Sigma Chi special. It's not only a fantastic network of brothers all around the United States and Canada, but a band of brothers who are there to help one another.

Beta Lambda executive officers consistently travel to Balfour Leadership Training Workshop for a weekend each summer with upwards of 2,000 other Sigma Chis, providing a fantastic experience to learn from and meet active brothers and alumni. Our chapter has also sent representatives to the Horizons program, which unites brothers in an incredible outdoor adventure in Snowbird, Utah. Both of these programs are unique to Sigma Chi and offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
